Privacy Policy

Privacy information for visitors to Outbreak Interactive websites, games, and related services.

Who We Are

Outbreak LTD operates Outbreak Interactive websites, game-related services, beta downloads, community-facing tools, and other related online services we make available from time to time. For UK data protection purposes, Outbreak LTD is the controller of the personal information described in this notice where we decide how and why that information is used.

If you have privacy questions or want to exercise your data rights, contact us at hello@outbreakinteractive.co.uk.

What We Collect

We may collect account information such as your email address, password stored as a secure hash rather than plain text, and any profile details you choose to provide, such as a player name.

If you subscribe to updates or newsletters, we may collect information such as your email address and name so we can send development news and related updates.

If you submit a project, pitch, or partnership form to us, we may collect the contact details, project information, build links, team details, timelines, support needs, and other information you choose to provide in that submission.

We may also collect usage and analytics data such as pages viewed, interaction events, device, browser, and operating system details, approximate region derived from IP address, and performance, error, or crash signals where enabled.

We do not sell your data. We only collect information we reasonably need to operate, secure, and improve our websites, games, and related services.

How We Use Personal Data And Our Lawful Bases

We use personal data to respond to enquiries, review project submissions, provide portal access, secure accounts, send requested updates, operate and improve our websites and services, and meet legal or regulatory obligations.

Depending on the context, we rely on one or more lawful bases under the UK GDPR, including taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing a contract, complying with legal obligations, pursuing our legitimate interests in running and improving our business and services, and consent where we use non-essential analytics or send optional marketing updates.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already took place before the withdrawal.

Analytics Providers

We may use Google Analytics to understand website traffic and behaviour, such as which pages are most visited. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

We use PostHog for product analytics and feature telemetry to improve systems, balance, and user experience. PostHog's privacy policy is available at posthog.com/privacy.

Where required, analytics collection is controlled through our cookie or analytics consent choices rather than being treated as always-on by default.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, analytics preferences, and related site functionality. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Where we rely on non-essential analytics, we use consent controls to manage whether those analytics technologies are enabled.

Downloads And Server Logs

When you download game builds, patches, or files from our websites or related services, our servers may log basic request information such as IP address and user agent.

We use these logs to prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and monitor download reliability and delivery health.

Where Data Is Stored

Data may be stored or processed by database providers used for account or site data, hosting infrastructure used for website and file delivery, analytics providers listed in this policy, and email or newsletter delivery providers such as Mailchimp or submission email services where used.

Recipients and processor categories may include website hosting and infrastructure providers, analytics providers, database and storage providers, email delivery services, newsletter tools, payment or reporting tooling where relevant, and professional advisers where needed.

Our infrastructure and service providers may change over time as development and operational needs evolve.

International Transfers

Some of our service providers may process personal data outside the UK. Where that happens, we aim to use providers and arrangements that support lawful international transfers under UK data protection law.

Depending on the provider and jurisdiction, this may include the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy regulations, or other recognised transfer safeguards.

Retention

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or for longer where required by law.

Contact enquiries and project submissions are generally retained for as long as needed to review, respond, and keep a record of business discussions, unless deletion is required sooner. Account and operational records may be retained for the life of the account and for a reasonable period afterwards for security, audit, and dispute-handling purposes.

Analytics and technical logs are typically kept for shorter operational periods unless we need them for security, abuse prevention, or troubleshooting. Because Arcbound is in active development, some beta-related data may be reset, pruned, anonymised, or removed over time as systems change.

Your Rights

If UK GDPR or similar laws apply to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain uses of your personal data.

You may also have rights to data portability, to withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing, and to ask us not to use personal data for certain direct marketing or profiling activities where applicable.

To make a request, contact hello@outbreakinteractive.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.

Complaints

If you have concerns about how we handle personal data, we would appreciate the opportunity to address them first.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK if you believe your personal data has been handled unlawfully or unfairly.

Children

Our websites, games, and services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as development progresses or as our services change.

If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. If you have any questions, contact Outbreak Interactive at hello@outbreakinteractive.co.uk.
